Eqc Discipline Ideas
Post Count: 277
I am currently looking into disciplines and researching more to add to our current list. I would love to hear from everyone their discipline ideas to be added to Eqc. Post below any discipline you enjoy or think would be a great addition! Note, I cannot guarantee your suggestion will be added. :)

Polo, steeplechase, fox hunt, pulling, gymkhana (that would be good for the pony breeds)

1 - Skijoring
I vote for more western and draft disciplines we have an abundance of English jumping disciplines. Fjords my be popular in the pony club eventing community but they are not competitive against more sport breeds so I support more driving and non jumping riding disciplines.

You missed camp drafting on your list kholored.
@ Curly - polo was suggested awhile ago as a team event with player made teams. Is that still the plan for it?

Polo has bee considered several times and is on my research list, and many of these suggestions! Polo is one that is more of a team event which would require thinking about how the competition would work. It will probably be one of the disciplines added once V3 has settled down and we can begin expanding into disciplines such as that.
I am keeping a document with all of these on it and researching each as they come in, if anyone has stats suggestions for each and reasoning I'm happy to consider it. :)

Harness racing is an endurance sport so the most logical stats would be Endurance, Speed, and Power.
Speed as an obvious second stat and power as third.
There are quite a few distances in harness racing so alternatively Speed, Power, Enduranceorder would be a reasonable choice as well for a mile distance.
Monté is basically the same as harness racing but with riders instead of drivers. So the stats would basically be the same except Power could be the first stat. Power, Endurance, Speed.
Polo does sound very interesting but as it is a team sport I think that it could benefit from having its own system.
Maybe users could create their own teams or sign their horses up and teams are created automatically by the game.
And the reasoning for these is still that we currently have 6 disciplines that are basically only known and practiced in America and 2 that are practiced in America and at least UK. The rest 6 are a bit more globally known but only two are very common. Harness racing is big in almost everywhere except Asia. For example Harness racing is practiced in these countries France, North America, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland, Italy, Austria, Belgium, Germany, Hungary, Russia, Netherlands, Malta, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand, There's some in the UK and Scotland too but it's nowhere as big as racing or other horse sports. In Italy, harness racing is almost more popular than regular racing. So basically Harness racing is a worldwide equine sport. And it would also be nice to have more disciplines for us that are not that interested in riding disciplines.
Admittedly I do not know a lot about Monté since I've only trained and ridden Monté horses and ours only competed in harness racing instead of Monté.
There's 4 distances, 1640m(Mile/short), 2140(normal), 2640m(Long) and 3140m(extra long) which is rarely used.
There's 6 classes and your horses winnings determine which class it can compete in. Mares have their own class also but they also belong in one of the six classes which are Class III, Class II, Class I, Bronze Division, Silver Division, and Gold Division.
There's also pony classes in Harness racing for A-ponies(max 107 cm, Shetlands) and B-ponies(107,1-130 cm, Purebred ponies, and Shetlands over 107 cm)
I'd also like to throw in the suggestion of Marathon Driving/Scurry Driving/Combined Driving.
